Description
Treasured for its intense floral aromas, Gewürztraminer originated from Germany but
has slowly moved to the Foothills of the Alps. This wine style is becoming
increasingly popular in Australia, so much so we have shortened the name to
Traminer. Typically, Gewürztraminer is best enjoyed in its youth to preserve
acidity.
Our Gewürztraminer was foot stomped in
their picking bins by the ladies on the cellar door, don’t worry they washed
their feet first, then pressed in to old French oak 24 hours later.
The flamboyant nature of this wine
jumps out of the glass with a riot of rose petals, musk sticks and lychee as
well as the classic Gewurz
aromas of Turkish Delight. The stiffened spine of clean acid keeps everything
in order right through to the lip snacking, elegant and poised, lengthy and juicy finish. Thai red
duck curry is a match made in heaven for this vibrant and refreshing wine.
